About this International Kirtan Master and his Kirtan Concert:

Internationally recognized for his musical abilities to perform the ancient art form of Kirtan & Bhajan. Vaiyasaki Das provides a taste of authentic devotional music from the Vedic tradition.

A Vaiyasaki Das concert is not an ordinary concert where people come to get entertained. It’s a spiritual gathering to experience the sacred sound of mantras. This does not mean you have to be Hindu, Buddhist, a yogi, or even a believer of anything. Chanting is a practice that transcends material barriers. More than a concert, it is an evening of relaxation, of joy, like going on holiday to rejuvenate our spirit. We use something as simple as our voice to enter into a space of meditation, but not a silent singular meditation. This congregational meditation is joyful and uplifting.

VaiysakiPr

Vaiyasaki Das, a bona fide student of Bhaktivedanta Swami, was born in London and has dedicated his life to kirtan for the last 40 years. Though born in London, England, Vaiyasaki Das came of age in Winnipeg, Canada. After many years in the music business – and a personal search for the divine — he is now one of the premier singers on the kirtan circuit. Starting out as a rock and blues guitarist with a penchant for singing, his taste for Indian culture came at an early age. He has produced 12 Kirtan CDs and 2 books on spirituality. He lived in India for many years in the 70′s and 80′s on a search for the divine and true meaning of life. His wife Kishori, is an perfect complement to him.

During their tours local musicians join him on various acoustic instruments. They not only sing sacred mantras but the audience is invited to sing along. This congregational kirtan enables the mantra to enter deep into the heart, where everyone can find peace of mind & freedom from anxiety. The sacred mantras of kirtan have a genuine effect on the consciousness. The yogic culture of ancient India discovered the tangible effects of sacred sound on our body and mind. His Kirtan brings to the West: an experience to open up the heart chakra.

Kirtan is an ancient call-and-response yoga of sound vibrations. Kirtan is a very simple and powerful way to meditate. It’s effortless & joyful. The music does the work for you as you flow with the melody & rhythm. In call and response style – the leader sings the mantra and the crowd responds, creating a dynamic, uplifting experience for all.

No musical experience required! You don’t have to be able to sing in tune either. Just bring a desire to revitalize your mind and awaken your essential self.
